Join us for a night of laughter, music, and purpose at our Fundraising Comedy Show & Concert, held in celebration of the 2025 Capitol Battle of the Bands weekend! This exciting event will feature hilarious stand-up performances from top comedians and live music from local and national talent—all in support of youth performing arts.
A portion of the proceeds will go directly toward scholarships for local students and help fund High Stepping Nationals’ year-round programs, including our Summer Music Camp and College Readiness initiatives. Come enjoy the show and help us invest in the future of our community’s young artists!

As part of the Capitol Battle of the Bands weekend, High Stepping Nationals will host a College Fair & Auditions exclusively for high school juniors and seniors in the DMV area. Students will have the opportunity to meet with college recruiters, band directors, and scholarship representatives from top HBCUs and other institutions.
Participants can audition on-site for music and band scholarships, receive instant feedback, and even walk away with scholarship offers. This is a unique chance for aspiring student musicians to take the next step toward college and beyond—all in one powerful, opportunity-filled day.

HBCU Drumline Battle at the H Street Festival
Get ready for an electrifying preview of the Capitol Battle of the Bands with a high-energy HBCU Drumline Battle at the iconic H Street Festival, taking place the day before the main event!
This intense showdown will feature two powerhouse drumlines from participating HBCUs, bringing the rhythm, precision, and showmanship that define Black college band culture. Expect explosive cadences, creative choreography, and crowd-hyping energy as these elite percussion sections go head-to-head in the heart of D.C.
